MIOMAP employs an open-access approach to data-sharing, with the mission of making the following features available through the University of California Museum of Paleontology and Berkeley Natural History Museums web sites:

  • Interactive maps of geographic occurrences of late Oligocene and Miocene mammal occurrences and related data

  • Easy-to-use interfaces for searching the database, building maps, and downloading portions or all of the database

  • Willingness to join forces with other paleontological database efforts
