FAUNMAP's major goal is to discover how the environment has affected mammalian community composition through time, and thereby to:

  1. Discover if species in communities respond individualistically or as part of larger, coevolving assemblages

  2. Clarify how provinciality of mammalian distributions has changed through time

  3. Understand how environments have changed through time
