We are pleased to announce that Professor Roy Caldwell has been appointed as Director of UCMP by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Beth Burnside. Roy brings a great deal of administrative experience to the museum, as well as an active research program on mollusks and crustaceans. He is PI on UCMP's Understanding Evolution website and our new Understanding Science web project and serves on the planning committee of a national initiative on the public understanding of science. Roy has served as Interim Director for the past twenty months.
