TO THE TOUR!

OVERVIEW

PREPARATION TIME: (1 hour) Teachers should go through the Teacher's Guide which contains detailed information about the tour, its use, and other resources.

CLASS TIME: 90 - 120 minutes depending on use of the module and student learning level.

HANDOUTS: Journal questions, Pre/Post Test, and Supplemental Questions can be printed out from the Teacher's Guide.

VOCABULARY: fossil record, taxa, cladogram, lineage, heredity, shared derived characteristics, variation, natural selection, morphological characteristics, hominids, DNA

TEACHER'S PROCEDURES

  1. Review the module Life Has a History at the appropriate learning level.
  2. Determine the use of the module for your classroom and preview additional supporting activities by accessing the Teacher's Guide. (You can use the back button on the browser to return to this page.)
  3. Review journal questions and Pre/Post Test to determine their use. Teachers can either use the questions provided, or modify them according to student needs.
  4. Provide students with the Internet site address: ucmp.berkeley.edu/education/life/tournew.html
  5. Explain to students how to use the journal.

STUDENT'S PROCEDURES

  2. Navigate through each page at your own pace.
  3. Respond to journal questions according to teacher's request.
