What’s on tap at UCMP for 2001?

T. rex: Predator or Scavenger?
T. rex on TrialPreview the new exhibit T. rex on Trial and enjoy a lively debate between Drs. Jack Horner, Museum of the Rockies, and Kevin Padian of UCMP, Friday, February 2, 2001, 7:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Hall of Science. There will be a special Friends event on March 2 and a discount on admission to the exhibit will be given to all Friends of UCMP, February 3-May 28, 2001. Just show your card at the door.

The Feathered Dinosaurs of China are coming to Berkeley!
Feathered DinosaursThis special exhibit is sponsored by UCMP and the Lawrence Hall of Science and includes free lectures for our Friends plus a special preview showing. The original opening date (March 3) has been delayed. Invitations and further details will be sent out in early February.

Set your calendars for Saturday, April 21, 2001 and join us for special tours of the collections, lectures, fossil-picking activities, and a closer look at some of our favorite fossils.

Astrobiology and the Origins of Life
AstrobiologyThis year, the annual UCMP short course will be held in September and will include a series of presentations by prominent scientists in the fascinating field of Astrobiology. As usual, a discounted registration will be offered to all Friends of UCMP.
