UCMP MYSTERY FOSSIL #13 is . . .
Bradysaurus

Bradysaurus Pareiasaurs, like Bradysaurus, are only known from the Upper Permian and are thought to be closely related to turtles. Pareiasaurs were fairly large (Bradysaurus approached 12 feet in length), and their robust bones were well designed to bear weight. Bony scales may have helped stiffen their heavy bodies or provide some protection. Find out more about these strange creatures here.
